Think Differently & Act Differently is a 24-month Erasmus+ project (February 2022 – January 2024) with the main objective to raise awareness and motivate people to adopt a more environmentally friendly behavior. The project’s goal is to encourage families to adopt in their homes more environmentally friendly behaviors by transitioning from the consumerist economy (buy-use-throw) to the circular economy.
As part of the project framework, partners conducted workshops and awareness campaigns either in person or online, aligning with the TD&AD project plan. We observed that these workshops effectively equipped participants with essential knowledge about the circular economy and recycling, empowering them to actively implement the acquired insights and skills in real-life scenarios.
Through interviews conducted with six families after the workshops, driven by the motivation gained during our “Think Differently & Act Differently” project workshops, embraced transformative actions that will be presented in forthcoming blog posts.
The 2nd Family: Embracing the Circular Economy
The 2nd family which participated in the workshops, become pioneers of the circular economy. By repairing, repurposing, and sharing resources within their neighbors, they’ve shifted from a linear “take- make-dispose” mindset to a circular one. They encouraged their neighbors to exchange items they no longer need. By facilitating this exchange, this family minimized unnecessary consumption and waste, emphasizing the value of reusing and repurposing goods within the community. Their creative approach in reimagining the lifespan of products has sparked enthusiasm among neighbors and friends, fostering a culture of sustainability.
