Think Differently & Act Differently is a 24-month Erasmus+ project (February 2022 – January 2024) with the main objective to raise awareness and motivate people to adopt a more environmentally friendly behavior. The project’s goal is to encourage families to adopt in their homes more environmentally friendly behaviors by transitioning from the consumerist economy (buy-use-throw) to the circular economy.
As part of the project framework, partners conducted workshops and awareness campaigns either in person or online, aligning with the TD&AD project plan. We observed that these workshops effectively equipped participants with essential knowledge about the circular economy and recycling, empowering them to actively implement the acquired insights and skills in real-life scenarios.
Through interviews conducted with six families after the workshops, driven by the motivation gained during our “Think Differently & Act Differently” project workshops, embraced transformative actions that will be presented in forthcoming blog posts.
The 3rd Family: Christmas Decoration
The 3rd family shared during their interview that following the workshops, they actively sought innovative ways to revitalize old belongings. They initiated a creative game involving their children, gathering every Sunday in their basement, where a collection of their stored old furniture and children’s games awaited. Together, they embarked on transforming these old pieces into new, functional decorative items, breathing fresh life into them for reuse. Moreover, for their Christmas decorations, they repurposed glass jars that might have otherwise been discarded. These jars were transformed into charming Christmas light jars adorned with festive gems, adding both sparkle and sustainability to their holiday décor.
