We found out how much garbage our family can generate only with coffee drunk at home: 21
capsules/week, over 1000 capsules per year that end up in landfills. That means 100 families
throw away 100,000 capsules a year.
That’s why we decided to make a change in our family: we extract the coffee grounds from
the capsules, wash the capsules and take them to the yellow container. We use coffee grounds
as fertilizer in the garden. It has become a habit to do this family activity at the end of each
week.
